I finally got photos sent to me from the last faire, and it is good enough (meaning I am not hidden in the background) where you can actually see how I am dressed with my HUGE cartwheel ruff of DOOM! Yep, what little I've been doing this week, has been to get my really big ruff into shape to wear this weekend for faire. I've spent the past few days starching, drying, then starching and drying again, with finger pressing as best I could. I am heartbroken. My ruff burned in the oven. Yes, burned. The Arnold book said to put it in the oven on high heat with the door open to set/cook the starch, so I did. My oven won't heat up with the door open (modern oven feature I guess). So I closed the door and left the room. Now I have no ruff ( Read more... )
